Over the past couple of years Pallavi  has nursed a desire to make her Art understood and appreciated by everyone.

Even those who are unfamiliar with Bharatanatyam, who do not understand the language of the lyrics, or those who are not familiar with Indian philosophy and mythology.

To this end, Pallavi has started a series of presentations:

“In Search of the Essence of India

The first show was to a full house at the prestigious Lighthouse Center in New York City on Sep 5, 2003.  It has since been presented twice at the Ashok Hotel, New Delhi and also in Guwahati, Assam. A recorded version was presented by the Indian Tourist Office in New York in June 2004.

The series presents a unique blend of images from Pallavi's journeys as a dancer and as a cultural interpreter for visiting American social workers.

These are merged with live Bharatanatyam dances by Pallavi.

The theme these special presentations is the essence of India and “Indian-ness”.

They try to present Indian philosophy in small doses and in an easily digestible format, linking India’s rich traditions in Dance, Music, Art, Architecture and Sculpture with Life as seen on the streets of India today.

These are co-related with vibrant images and commentary about the many impressive but sometimes confounding sights that confront a traveler in India.

An attempt is made to unravel the common thread of logic and truth that connects them.
